Hands and Feet
I head out in the morning for Cedarville, OH. The Loop Community team and I are heading there for the Worship424 conference where we’ll be teaching a few workshops, giving loop demonstrations and meeting fine people. It’s sure to be a good time. I recently made some adjustments in my schedule to allow more room for Loop Community and music ministry opportunities. There are a lot of exciting plans in the works. BTW – if you’re interested in having me join your church, conference, school, or retreat for worship – fill out a booking request. We’re booking for 2012.
I still need to pack for our trip tomorrow. I’ve been working on building a few Ableton templates for demonstration purposes, and also doing some design work for LC… but was stopped in my tracks when this song came on my iTunes. I like to keep my iTunes on shuffle… almost feels like ‘fate’… but really it’s probably a simple algorithm. I sat and listened and worshipped to this song by The Brilliance 5 times with my eyes closed, head on desk. What a beautiful song.
Here we are
Words can only go so far
Draw us closer to your heartÂ
Bring us back to you
Bring us back to you
I’ve been thinking a lot today about how much I try to write the story, and then also do my best to play the part. Which looks like me writing the story, and telling God to have a part in it… instead of asking God to write the story and me being a part of that story. It’s pretty exhausting and disappointing. And the story keeps changing, new chapters, abruptly ending… left confused. I’m done with that. I want to let God write the story and be a part of that. I guess He already is, but that’s the perspective I need to have from now on. Stop trying to take control. It will be better that way.
Ok, better start packing. Make sure to check out this song, “Hands and Feet”, on iTunes.
