Germany Video Update 2. Watch below —>

A few hours ago I arrived back in Chicago from Nuremberg, Germany. It was a great trip filled with many good memories. One of my favorite parts (other than the Dancing Generation chaos (spartan outfits, hardhat, stuffed animals and razor scooter ***see youtube video), was the evening Phil Dooley, pastor of Hillsong United, spoke. It was a really powerful night of worship. It gave me goosebumps hearing so many people sing at the very top of their voices, in different languages. It was a beautiful thing to see, hear, feel and experience. The evening with Delirious on Saturday night was very special as well. It was their last concert in Germany. I actually have some Delirious video I will post soon. We also got to see a lot of historical sites from WWII. I’m fascinated by that kind of stuff.

I met some really great people on the trip… many I will miss very much, and many I can see every day at Willow still. :) I’m very thankful I was able to go. It’s amazing how much closer you feel to people after you take a trip together.

I’m pretty tired after all the traveling. Right now, its 4:30 AM Germany time. I’m gonna try to stay awake as late as possible and hopefully get my body back on track to Chicago time.

Dancing Germany (Must Watch)

Hard Hats, Dancing, Running, Singing, Stuffed Animals, Push Ups, Scooters, Falling… craziness.

During the breakdown of dancing generation, we had a little fun. This video gives you a little glimpse. Matt Lundgren does some push ups, puts on a hard hat, pinky-dances with a stuffed animal while I ride a Razor Scooter around the stage.

Willow shift conference – Germany

Nuremberg, Germany pt. 1

// April 30th, 2009 // No Comments » // Blog

Hey there friends,

Just wanted to share some quick pictures with you from our trip so far. There are plenty more to come. (See gallery above).

The past couple days have been really busy, but lots of fun. I think my body has finally adjusted to the time change.
We have about 20 songs that we’re doing over the weekend at the conference (Willow Creek Association Shift Conference). There will be about 4,000 student leaders and pastors attending. There are 11 sessions, each including worship. I’m especially excited for Saturday, as Delirious will be arriving!

We’re all set up in the arena and have been sound checking and rehearsing like crazy. There are so many songs to learn, and some I’ve never heard before (they are in German). The internet is pretty limited unfortunately, otherwise I would be posting Twitpics like crazy.

Anyways, just wanted to drop in really fast and let you know things are going well so far. The conference begins tomorrow afternoon. It’s gonna be a blast!

PS. I’m using an AC30 (blue speakers)…. loving it. Might need to do a little research when I get back home.

Hi friends!

Before the worship set this morning I thought I would pull the camera out and give you a little video tour of the Ableton Live rig that we use to run Loops and Click LIVE during worship sets. See youtube video embed below —>

Acoustic Guitars DAY 2

// April 21st, 2009 // No Comments » // Blog

Today was day 2 of acoustic guitar recording for the new record. We finished 6 songs… which was definitely the max I would want to do in one day. We kept pretty busy, so I didn’t get a chance to record much video… but I did catch a little snippet of one of the songs. Have a look at the video below:

Making progress! I’m getting more and more excited each day we’re in the studio. It’s really starting to come alive. It’s a really interesting experience and feeling to watch the entire timeline of these songs… from the day I write them – to them being recorded and used in our church worship times. Really fun to experience.
